Club 1872 Attends Ibrox Disaster Memorial Service

Club 1872 recently confirmed our participation in Rangers Football Club’s Heritage Working Group. As part of that group, Club 1872 Director, Euan Macfarlane attended the service of remembrance at the Ibrox Disaster Memorial Statue on the 2nd January 2026, laying a wreath on behalf of Club 1872 Directors and Contributors. Euan commented,

“Over the past couple of months it has been very humbling to be included in the Club’s Heritage Working Group and it was an honour to be there to lay a wreath on behalf of Club 1872 Directors and Contributors this morning at the remembrance ceremony.

It was a privilege to meet and hear from families and supporters affected by the Ibrox disaster in 1971 and to attend the ceremonies to honour those we lost.

It is our hope that through our involvement in the Heritage Working Group, Club 1872 can participate in future projects and events to commemorate those who were lost and the Rangers Communities impacted by the disaster.

We will remember them, always.”
