The Club 1872 Board has been encouraged by the positive feedback received from contributors following the transfer of £220,000 to Rangers Football Club for Heritage Projects.
Many fans have signed up to Club 1872 on the back of our recent announcement and we are extremely grateful for their support.
As we previously outlined, an additional £220,000 has been set aside for the future share issue just confirmed by Rangers and we have already responded to the club registering our interest in participating.
We met with Andrew Cavenagh and Jim Gillespie and they re-iterated their open-ness to our organization participating. A vote on the resolutions and any transfer of funds will follow.
Our recent activity highlights our continued commitment to increase shareholding, where possible, and furthering our Heritage plans.
The Club 1872 Board – comprised of Euan Macfarlane, John Brown, Alan Fraser, Iain McHolm and Scott Carline – is totally committed to working closely with Rangers on a variety of projects and are also looking to streamline the organisation on the basis of a single sign-up process.
We want to make it easier for current contributors and for fans to join us – whether you prefer a share buying or heritage focus.
The current process is more complex than it needs to be.
So, our vision is to transition Club 1872’s CiCs (Community Interest Companies) into one company.
This will deliver a unified and modern sign-up model and provide a single voting process for both shares and projects initiatives going forward.
Resolving this complexity massively increases our agility and relieves human and financial burdens.
Finally, we believe it is vital to relaunch under a new name and brand that captures our renewed heritage focus and this is something we look forward to sharing very soon.
We hope you will back this vision for change. Our goal is to ensure transparency and we believe this journey is one you would want to share with us.
