Today we are pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for the Club 1872 boards. This represents the next step in the relaunch of Club 1872 and it’s a crucial one as we continue the process of rebranding and evolving into the dynamic organisation our Contributors and the wider fanbase deserve.
The landscape has changed, Club 1872 is shifting focus and we want you to be part of it. In our recent poll, 92% of Contributors voted in favour of us funding Heritage Projects agreed with the Club and work is moving forward in this area. In the coming months we will relaunch with a new name, fresh thinking and a stronger, symbiotic relationship with the Club and supporters.
We want to ensure ongoing heritage funding and shareholder relations with the Club, but it is important to highlight the fact that their current ownership model may indicate that long-term, regular share issues cannot be guaranteed. This is why the new Heritage Projects model is key to maintaining funding and we are passionate about delivering tangible community improvements at Rangers. We also remain in continuous dialogue with the Club to ensure the best possible strategy and use for our current shareholding and to ensure participation in any future share issues.
With all that in mind, the next phase is to kick off elections for four new directors.
Current director Euan Macfarlane will remain and will drive our change in focus. Laura Fawkes and Joanne Percival have reached the end of their respective terms and will not seek re-election. They were both instrumental in establishing our new strategies and relationship with the current leadership at Rangers Football Club, and they leave with our thanks for that and for all their hard work and dedication throughout their time as directors.
Now, we are seeking individuals who share a passion to continue this work, to inspire and attract new Contributors and benefit the Rangers community by delivering tangible improvements and the careful conservation of Ibrox and the Club’s rich history. Prospective directors are encouraged to think big for the organisation, knowing that we will be working directly with the Club on Ibrox Re-Generation and beyond. The opportunities to continue evolving this partnership are massive and we are genuinely excited about the future.
The projects outlined to date are just the beginning and there is a chance to create a real legacy. Think Stadium expansion, major facility improvements, fan experiences and further ways to protect and highlight our history. Ibrox is an iconic stadium where Club legends have captured the imagination of supporters, and we are delighted to play our part in protecting and improving it. Join us on this new journey.
Details on the application process and how to apply have been sent directly to all Club 1872 Contributors.
Contributors who are interested in standing are also invited to attend a walk-in session at the Club 1872 office at Ibrox where Euan Macfarlane will meet and answer any questions Contributors have on the election process, what’s involved in being a director or to discuss the details of current strategy. Details have been sent to all Contributors.
