Club 1872 would like to take the opportunity to thank our members and the wider support for their backing of both Rangers and Club 1872 ahead of the coming season. We welcome the hundreds of new members who have joined us over the past few weeks and hope that during the course of the season we will see more and more of you signing up to support our aims.
Once again, our fans have backed the team in incredible numbers, with record season ticket sales and on away trips such as the recent friendly in Sheffield. We fully expect this to continue and would like to echo the words of Stewart Robertson in urging our supporters to act as ambassadors for our wonderful football club wherever they go.
There have been a number of headlines in recent days and weeks which have painted fans of other Scottish clubs in a less than flattering light. Given the high profile nature of these incidents, and our experience of how things operate in Scottish football, we are sure there will be some involved in our game who will be looking for a way to drag Rangers supporters into that coverage. We must collectively be aware of that and give them no excuses to do so.
We are all Rangers Football Club. Everything that happens from the boardroom, to the pitch and into the stands will be used to judge us. We urge supporters to continue to back the team positively, vocally and in large numbers, and also to be mindful of the responsibility we all have to Rangers.
Finally, we would like to extend our best wishes to Pedro Caixinha and our players, old and new, ahead of the coming season. We should all be hugely proud of our football club and let’s hope we have plenty of reasons to cheer in the coming months.
